Whatever you think of Koppel personally, or of his hypocrisy, his central point is a good one: if GWB believes that youth and irresponsibility are valid excuses, why is he turning the screws so hard on young Texans who are making the same errors he did? I don't care if Koppel is a hypocrite; he's not running for President. GWB's hypocrisy is more of a national concern than Koppel's.
