CK- I have heard and read about this for a long time but this is probably best and easiest to understand summary of planets aligning in May 2000---

The Y2K bug is certainly going to be a major event. Some attention
has been paid to this, but for the most part it has been intentionally
downplayed. The powers that be don't want to trouble the
American people with something as trivial as social and economic
chaos. If you didn't trust the government before, wait until you
discover all the things they did not tell you about Y2K and what to
expect.

But is the Y2K-bug the only disaster coming down the road?

There is another significant event to contend with in the year 2000.
It is an event being referred to as the Millennium Storm. I have
been so focused on Y2K that this little occasion escaped my
attention until recently.

What is the Millennium Storm? It is a cosmic event that will take
place on May 5, 2000. On that day several of the planets (Earth,
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) will align into a straight
line with the sun. You might be saying, so what? Well, it seems that
this alignment could cause some of the most significant solar flares
in the history of mankind. It seems that these solar flares have a real
nasty effect on a number of things including human beings.

Historically, planet alignments have been rather devastating to the
earth. It is believed that the last time that this alignment of 6 planets
occurred was 6,000 years ago and the fossil records seem to
indicate that the earth was severely affected.

Possible implications are huge tidal waves (3,000 to 5,000 feet
high), a significant increase in volcanic activity and earthquakes that
would register very high on the Richter scale. More recently, in
1812, there was an alignment of 4 planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus
and Neptune) and the devastating result was referred to as the
"Year Without Summer”.

The northern hemisphere was devastated by cold temperatures that
caused crop failures and widespread famine. Twenty-eight years
ago a similar alignment caused earthquakes and flooding that killed
over 20,000 people.

These solar flares cause or create high-energy electrons. These
electrons have the ability to disable or destroy all forms of electronic
equipment. The flares that are anticipated by the alignment to take
place next year will be more significant than anything that has
occurred in several hundred thousand years.

It was originally estimated that these electrons would take about
90+ hours to reach the earth. This would provide sufficient time to
turn off all significant systems, such as electrical utilities, aircraft
and things of that nature. It seems that if you turn the electrical
systems off they are unaffected by the electrons.

However, in late 1998 the European Space Agency's SOHO solar
observing satellite was temporarily disabled by the electrons created
from solar flares that only took 20 minutes to reach Earth. This
radical reduction in elapsed time means that there will not be
enough time to shut down critical systems and the resulting impact
could mean the destruction of almost all forms of electric based
systems or equipment.

That is fairly far reaching all by itself, but there is also the possibility
of biological effects, since the solar flares could adversely affect the
Earth's atmosphere. How much damage the atmosphere will suffer
is uncertain, but it is an absolute certainty, due to the solar flares,
that the Earth will be exposed to every form of known radiation.
We all know that exposure to radiation is not good. How intense the
radiation levels will be is likely to be directly proportional to the
intensity of the solar flares.

Will these solar flares really have such a huge effect on the Earth? I
don't have enough of a scientific background to answer that
question, but I have seen information and reports from the world's
scientific community and this discourse is based on my
understanding of that information.

I can only tell you that a large number of scientists feel that there is
reason for grave concern. Perhaps you should contact your elected
officials and ask them why you are not being informed on these
issues. While you are out mailing that letter, you might want to stop
at your local drugstore and get some really good sun block.

Why are you not seeing information on this in the news? Excellent
question, but you already know the answer, don't you? Again the
government and the media have decided that you are incapable of
dealing with this kind of information. They would rather deal with
your reaction to the event rather than your reaction to the news of
the event. It's really is that simple.
