New supercenter going up in Dubuque, Ia. Dubuque is not exactly the center of the universe, but it is a great indicator of how Wal-Mart is targeting mid and lower-income families and more important, how they are responding. The original Wal-Mart went in about 5 years ago. Has been open 24 hours a day since Christmas 97. Cars are there ALL THE TIME, and it is especially busy on weekends and holidays. Apparently this location is one of their major winners, since they are now adding a grocery store to the location. At the same time, they are expanding the older part of the store and modernizing the shelving, aisles, lighting, etc. The parking lot has been doubled in size and the cafeteria enlarged. It seems they are destined to do some serious business in this location. Same story everywhere I see a Wal-Mart. Heavy traffic, modernization going on.......its a juggernaut whose shares I don't think anyone should be without! Just MHO. Good fortune! Knip
