Via, SiS aim for high chipset market share (http://www.theregister.co.uk/990906-000001.html) ÿÿÿ--- IMHO, the new founded courage to compete with Intel in chipsets is due to Intel's failure to usurp the Graphic chipset business, the failure to squash Socket7 by the end of the year 1998, and especially the failure to eliminate financially strapped, good for nothing AMD that so many forecasted. Why Intel and Rambus are so close (http://www.theregister.co.uk/990906-000003.html) ÿÿ--- I don't think the "$80 million and $100 million" finacial gain as the article indicated, or the slight performance advantage with the RAMBUS technology are the main reasons behind the Intel's interest in RAMBUS.
