Dear Sidney, I hope you don't mean me! I don't respond to every post, in large part because I don't want to dominate the thread, also because sometimes I just don't have anything to say, and think saying stuff like "I agree" is probably a waste of time, unless I was actually engaged in a discussion with the person I agree with.
My husband once told me a joke about news groups - I can't remember exactly how it went, but something like this: "How many news groups participants does it take to change a light bulb? 100. 1 to change the light bulb, 3 to criticise, 5 to defend, 10 to joke about it, 15 to say that the jokes aren't really funny, 20 to point out that the ones who say the jokes aren't funny don't have a sense of humor, 25 to agree, 10 to critique the other posters' grammar and spelling, and 11 to flame everyone."
So I do try to limit my posts. |
