some companies, leaders of new markets, will never make money, yet will forge the practices, models and processes of followers
for this, they may be rewarded greatly, even to the point of transforming before they 'go broke'
don't forget, the reason they are in business was their ability to mutate into a new model in the first place
with respect to 'profits', traditional business doesn't include profits of suppliers 'hooked' into the new 'universe' of the new economy leaders (the most obvious ones being VC's, brokers, funds)
complimentary to this is the 'value' increments by customers, INCLUDING shareholders
so you don't think i'm completely loony, i shorted MCOM, PHCM and RHAT at the open and feel that EXDS, INSP and INKT should GT0.
