So you are saying there actually are two MMs milking this cow. They had to scramble on Friday to replace the 30,000 shares somebody wanted. If anybody wants any more, there will be another scramble.

Back last June and July, they would pay only 1/16. They had plenty of inventory and didn't want any more. Then at the end of July, somebody wanted 50,000 shares and since then they were paying 1/8 for them. The 30,000 order on Friday must have come as a shock. It sure did for me.

I doubt it has anything to do with Turkey. With no deal done after 2 1/2 years, it isn't likely there will be any good news regarding Manova. Turkey was devastated in its industrialized northwest, partly due to government building inspectors not doing their job in recent years. Another very sad failure of government regulation, this time in a foreign country.

As someone who actually met the Manova partners 2 1/2 years ago when I happened to be in Charleston while they were visiting, I am very saddened by what has happened. Although it was the briefest of encounters, one of them politely wished me luck in my investment. I still feel some personal connection with them after all this time.

But in this case, even this darkest of clouds still may have a silver lining. Turkey's traditional enemy Greece immediately sent help after the earthquake which was quickly accepted. Greece has even publicly mentioned softened conditions for removing their veto of Turkey's petition to join the European Union. Turkey replied they will not compromise on Cyprus but will on other disputed islands, so there is renewed reason for better relations and progress for Turkey.

But that doesn't explain the reason somebody felt like buying GRNO stock on the open market. Very strange, indeed. Next week could be interesting.
