Let me hit this little topic of the naming of the site...
I am assuming we are just talking about the bidding site...
Question: When I say the words, online auction, what do you think of? eBay probably.
Question: When I say the words, buy books online, what do you think of? Amazon probably.
What does this have in common?? They have absolutley nothing to do with what they are selling!!!
When you are creating an online business, I beleive in one thing: name recognition/association and offering something the others dont!
Lynn Goodman and my parents have taught me one major thing. TO be a leader, not a follower. If you are starting up a company and want the market tot ake a liking to it, be the leader..be different. Do something others aren't. Don't be like " licenssee of Starnet"..the same stuff that everybody else has...
So my point being, don't be a bidnow or bid2win or bidmojo or auctiontoys.com a person on the Inte will forget those stupid bid.com names and get them twisted all up.. Why? Because there are so many that sound the freaking same!! When you think books, AMAZON clearly stands out..It's name is different and is a "brand" That is the key to the Internet. NAme associaition. We have to undersatnd the Psychology of this.
I have some more thoughts on this, but don't wanna waste my time if ECNC managment and sharholders don't agree with me...:-)
But the bottom line is: have something to offer different and have an appealing name that STICKS OUT. have the pizazz that makes me wanna slap a poster up of Fatt Matt and try to sell it on your site and not ebays.
Yes, I am in Psychology this year @ school..Is this why I am thinking this way, or am I just crazy?
