GEO Interactive, Computer Associates and TDI Partner to Deliver Integrated Streaming Media
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 7, 1999--
Combination of Emblaze, BizXpress and Jasmine Offer Developers
a Complete Solution for Streaming Video
GEO Interactive (LSE:GIM.) today announced that it will begin offering ESDS (Emblaze Streaming Database Solution), an easy-to-use, professional tool for developers building a video streaming database.
ESDS is a direct result of GEO's ongoing partnership with Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA) and Technology Deployment International (TDI). This newly created product is made up of GEO Interactive's Emblaze VideoPro(TM) and TDI's BizXpress and offers full support for CA's Jasmine information infrastructure.
"For the first time, by integrating Emblaze's advanced compression and streaming technology with Jasmine and BizXpress, GEO is enabling developers a quick and easy way to create and implement video content for Web-based applications," said Hamid Kohan, vice president of OEM Sales, GEO Interactive.
ESDS incorporates Emblaze's no plug-in approach and re-usability with JavaBean technology, scalability, built-in Web integration and full integration with Jasmine.
CA's Jasmine offers developers an object-oriented infrastructure ideally suited for dynamic multimedia applications. Jasmine treats Emblaze files as objects, enabling them to be easily managed and manipulated. Customers who manage and deploy data objects with Jasmine can now add Emblaze streaming audio and video to their Jasmine applications.
GEO, a leader in streaming voice and video solutions over telecom and IP networks, developed the Emblaze technology which allows users to experience streaming content without plug-ins. Integrating Emblaze into Jasmine provides Jasmine clients with additional tools for deploying multimedia content on both the Internet and Intranet-whether they are consumer or business-oriented sites.
BizXpress is a database development tool that helps users develop Web-ready, pure Java applications and applets visually, with minimal coding. With BizXpress, users immediately benefit from pure object-oriented design when developing multimedia for the next generation of powerful applications.
"By working with GEO, TDI is extending the reach and added value of BizXpress. The combination of Emblaze Video Pro and BizXpress together with Jasmine provides our customers with an easy-to-use, complete solution that offers the highest quality video playback, with no special plug-ins required for the end users," said Roya Mofazali, vice president of Professional Services, TDI.
"Computer Associates is proud to team with GEO and TDI to help extend the reach of our products by offering developers a complete and easy-to-use solution for integrating streaming audio and video into their Web based applications," said Michael LaTorraca, vice president of CA's development partner programs. "We're pleased to support GEO and TDI to collaborate on projects that add value for our customers."
Jasmine, the intelligent information infrastructure, is a comprehensive solution to build and deploy multimedia applications over client/server and networked computing environments. Jasmine provides extensive support for all types of information beyond text and numbers, such as video, sound and images. It also delivers universal data integration over an enterprise network, from desktop to mainframe, regardless of data source.
ESDS is now available for $1495 at emblaze.com.
Emblaze Offers a `Natural Internet Solution'
The patented Emblaze technology enables streaming audio and video content to be viewed and interacted with in real time from the moment a Web site is accessed, on any platform, with minimal delays, and without preloads, downloads, caching or buffering. The multimedia content simply plays by streaming in real time from the Web site of a remote server using a standard telephone line via a modem at 14.4 kbps or 28.8 kpbs per second.
Unlike other technologies, Emblaze enables animation and video with full-frame content change whose length is limited only by the size of the hard drive of the Web site server.
GEO Interactive, a leader in streaming video and voice solutions over telecom and IP networks, uses its cutting-edge technology to provide a wide variety of Internet-Java-based applications over low bandwidth modems without the need for plug-ins. The technology is dynamically scaleable to Intranet speeds.
