the market went up in 1987.
Only those that sold out on the bottom lost out.
Unfortunatly, my biggest mutual fund holding at Vanguard did at the time, but I held on to my stocks hence my switch to liking index funds and personal stock selection.
'87 is a great example where buy n hold won out.
