k--

I'm getting mixed signals on PC issue as it relates to Japanese banking. A long time poster to csy2k, Henry Ahlgrim, who is located in Japan indicates there has been some PC testing/remediation in the Japanese banking sector, but perhaps not to the extent Karl Fielder feels necessary. See the Usenet thread below for his posts on the issue:

x36.deja.com@gol.com%3e%231/1&group=comp.software.year-2000&frpage=getdoc.xp&back=clarinet

Ahlgrim places great faith in BOJ's ability to issue directives and keep up the pressure as you can see.

Even at that, I still find it difficult to believe that if PC y2k remediation was complete or progressing according to plan the author of that 50 page report to would somehow fail to mention to highlight the effort (and make reference to only one bank?...a clue perhaps?)
