Bill,

We passed the half-year mark and I also believe it is time to review some new (and old) stock picks here.

I took a look briefly at SSW (Sterling Software) and my initial impression is that of a relatively flat revenue growth curve and an earnings curve that has been impacted by acquisitions/share dilution. I find these types of stocks (growing by accretive acquisitions) the most challenging to analyze. In order to do a meaningful review I would need to review individual quarterly reports and try to "neutralize" the costs of acquisitions by filtering out one-time charges.

The relatively flat top line and the rapid growth of shares issued has me a bit wary for the time being. Also, I have no perspective on the popularity, demand, necessity, competition for the particular type of enterprise software they produce.

I will try to look into it later in the week.
