EBWorld.com Signs E-Commerce Deal With America Online
WEST CHESTER, Pa., Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Online software retailer
EBWorld.com (http://www.ebworld.com), the Internet division of Electronics
Boutique (Nasdaq: ELBO), announced today it has signed an e-commerce agreement
with America Online under which EBWorld will be a Gold tenant in the
"Electronic Games" category of the new Shop@AOL, AOL.COM, CompuServe and
Netscape online shopping destinations.
The marketing relationship with America Online (NYSE: AOL) is a critical
component in EBWorld.com's plans to eclipse $16 million in e-commerce sales by
the end of the year, a 400% increase over last year. "We feel our presence on
America Online and its family of brands will effectively deliver the vast,
targeted exposure that drives short term sales while establishing long-term
online market dominance," says Seth Levy, president of EBWorld.com.
The e-commerce alliance was timed to coordinate with the recent unveiling
of EBWorld.com's state-of-the-art e-commerce customer service center in Las
Vegas, NV. "With our new facility, we are prepared to provide expert guidance
and service to as many online shoppers as America Online can deliver," says
