>> Oracle. It's obviously on the G&K portfolio

Let me restate the selection process for the G&K Index:

Techstocks only (since GG applies only to techstocks)
Only companies with market caps >10B (smaller ones go to the W&W portfolio).
Gorillas, Kings, or PAWs (Princes with an Attitude) only.

Please note that being in the GKI does not mean the thread thought the company had good prospects going forward. That accounts for bow-wows like cpq being in the GKI (they've slipped from King to Prince this year).

As for Oracle, we had to include them since they are, at the least, the dominant player in the database sector and were cited by Moore as a Gorilla in the manual. Personally, I sense the sector has changed from a Gorilla Game to a Royalty Game. I have little faith in Oracle, as Ellison seems to be fixated on trying to hurt Gates and has lost focus his own company. I held orcl for a few years, and was lucky to get out at a break even.
