R Winer; That is why I said there were errors on both sides. For example, "art" vs technique. All good labs try to eliminate 'art' as much as possible, it is a variable with random effects with different techs getting different answers depending on how well versed theey are in the 'art'. Proper technique is de rigeur in good labs and as long as the technicians follow the technique, whichis a readily teachable skill, the more consistent are the labs results. I have asked for a copy of the standard fire assay procedure and the cyanide bottle procedure and I will post it when it arrives. The rest of your postis pretty much as I see it too. Bill Jackson
