Great team in '81. 3 1/2 point favorite over the Raiders who they had beat at Oakland in the regular season. They got dusted. I actually became a Raider fan that day. They took no prisoners. Philly was too tight and emotionally drained from the NFC Championship win over Dallas.

Too bad Al Davis has lost that edge in the years since.

Re: Gibbs - Class act, great coach, prepared teams

When I was living in Long Island during the '90 season. (The Wide Right Super Bowl) I played a pool during the playoffs which consisted of picking the winners versus the spread.
Philly played the Redskins and I took Washington +3 1/2. My friends (All Giants fans) were shocked I took Washington.
My reasoning: Buddy Ryan could never outcoach Joe Gibbs. (Ryan was fired after the game)
