6Sept issue of Space News has front page story on how revival of Asian economies and corresponding increased demand for bandwidth spurred Loral's decision to lease Apstar 2R. The issue's editorial is titled: "Free Chinasat 8" and presents a very sympathetic-to-Loral analysis of the State Department's delays in reissuing Loral's export license. Final paragraph of editorial: "The export licensing process should not be used as a substitute for the judicial system. That is an abuse of power and an attempt to circumvent the courts, where the export hawks know their chances of winning are far from certain." AMEN.
