Both. Even though prospectuses can easily be obtained from the funds or through your broker, (usually free of charge), high turnover funds, may be "old".

You then must rely on contacts to what the recent purchases are. In fact, you can request this yourself from any fund. But having contacts in the 401K management business also helps.

Keep in mind though, that my COOL holdings represent only a fraction of my holdings. I like to post about the sleepers.-g-
