I take back the part of my last post where I said that the Mosys embedded dram was used in GameBoy. The link you posted said it's used in the ArtX Graphics chip in the Dolphin (PowerPC based) successor to N64. I suppose as frame buffer. (The Sony PSII has a huge embedded dram frame buffer in its graphics chip.) There will still be a main memory, of course, which will be either drdram or sdram.

As for GameBoy, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that it does use embedded dram for its main memory but I got ahead of myself on that.
