Heinz, Relative to your comment that these data don't include a bear market, you are right. But, they do include many periods where prices fell off significantly, such as the recessions of 1980, 81-82, and 90-91, as well as the obvious problems in 1987. I'll be reporting the 1988-1999 data soon. Thanks.
