.Trev asked:

"On the other hand I'd be interested to know whether the original figure on Capital costs, and operating costs for Aber were prepared by the same consultants who have just come out with the much higher figures. Does anybody know the answer to that?????"

Well, the answers are partially hidden away, but I can tell you this much:

The feasibility study was conducted by Nishi Khon/SNC Lavalin and Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. These would be the most recent figures.

The prefeasibility study was conducted by Diavik Diamond Mines Inc. working with consultants. These would be the earlier, lower figures. The main consultant was apparently MRDI, as the following quote from that organization states:

"MRDI prepared capital and operating cost estimates for two development scenarios at this proposed open-pit and underground mine (Diavik), updating earlier studies that the company conducted in 1996. The update included review of the Medsystem model and production schedule, mining method selection, mine planning and scheduling and cost estimates for the mine and ancillary facilities."

Hope this helps you.

WillP
