should this be a personal decision as to cutoff points or do we need as a society to determine the cutoff point at which we recognize personhood and all of the rights that personhood entails? One issue I have with this debate is that I feel some want to give a fetus more human rights than an adult has, at the expense of the birth mother. For example if a person needs an organ transplant, and an appropriate organ cannot be located, that individual will die. We don't force relatives to donate bone marrow etc. in order to keep someone alive. How is a fetus different?
