Well, thread brothers and sisters, we are up to 40,000 posts. Here is the explanation of the double counting on nasdaq. According to CNBC today, it occurs when a market maker doesn't have the shares in its inventory to meet an order and buys from another market maker. Accordingly, the adjustment in volumes is more like 30%, rather than cutting volume in half.
