KPMG and Vantive Team to Provide Complete Solutions for the e-customer

NEW YORK, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG LLP, a leading accounting, tax and consulting firm, and The Vantive
Corporation (Nasdaq: VNTV - news), a leader in the customer relationship management (CRM) software market, today
announced that KPMG has become a Platinum member in the Vantive Alliance Program. The two companies will jointly
assess, plan, design and deliver the Vantive Enterprise suite of Web-based front-office applications for the

KPMG is developing a Vantive practice within its Customer Management (CM) organization, showcasing Vantive
applications in its solutions center and initially focusing on developing e-business solutions for the High Tech industry
segments. KPMG and Vantive have a long-standing relationship, and this agreement increases the scope of activity and
level of commitment between these two industry leaders. The two companies also recently teamed to deliver Vantive
QuickConnect for PeopleSoft, which enables the seamless integration between Vantive and PeopleSoft. With KPMG's
support, Vantive is the first CRM vendor certified to integrate to PeopleSoft's new Enterprise Integration Points

and scalability of the Vantive applications proves to us the value of this alliance.'

``Meeting the needs of today's e-customer requires a flexible and scalable architecture and industry knowledge for
a rapid deployment,' said Tom Thomas, president and CEO of Vantive. ``Teaming with KPMG further illustrates the
commitment to our customers to provide leading e-business solutions. Vantive is honored to join forces with a
powerhouse like KPMG to expand our presence and to help ensure the success of e-customers around the world.'

``Vantive and KPMG have worked together for quite some time,' said Joe Murray, partner, Customer
Management/High Tech for KPMG. ``KPMG's High Tech Industry practice recognizes Vantive as a key component of
our call center strategy and vital to implementing e-business solutions. KPMG has focused resources on our
relationship with Vantive because of its commitment to quality, 100% customer referenceability, and the scalability
of Vantive's architecture. The two organizations are aligned to provide leading e-business solutions for companies who
value their customer relationships.'

KPMG joins Vantive's Alliance Program at the highest level, as a Platinum member. KPMG's Customer Management
(CM) practice provides clients with integrated sales, marketing, and customer service solutions that help businesses
