Yaacov,
Hi!!

I strongly believe an IBM/DELL deal of some sort will be done sooner or later...I've tried to joke of the number of "punches" I've had from friends that work there and tell me that IBM just "can't keep losing all that money"...so, I call it a no brainer..Michael has told us that finding the talent to move with the growth of his dreams is a major concern...uuummmm! :o)
I also strongly believe DELL is conquering the world with their model...for umteen reasons...listening various times to conference calls or reviewing quotes there is a definite conservative language that DELL has been using with regards to the "leverage" and "push anyone" with their efficiency...Their words from past articles, news reports, conference calls, TV appearances and shareholders meetings have proven time and time again to have been factual.. DELL is still growing at a large multiple to the market and the earnings and market share stolen prove it... Once again...This IMO is a no brainer...DELL is conquering the world..
Assuming now that the reports coming from CPQ are anywhere "near accurate"...Couple the results (whatever, although we know they aren't exactly hiring folks) with Michael's words of "PAIN TO CAUSE MUCH PAIN"...I think we have a definite strategy here that occurred and not too many folks realized that we "sacrificed" some pennies for the future...A future that IMO will open the door to the entire world..Destroying CPQ is in the best interest of the shareholders...Just one more reason to remember why we love this company...
Adding all this up I find it very interesting to remember one more quote from this thread where we were told that Mort and Michael were talking one day... and Michael told Mort: "IF CPQ FAILS IN THEIR ACQUISITION OF DEC IT WOULD BE LIKE HANDING DELL THE KEYS TO THE KINGDOM"..

Yaacov...You judge the stock price in five years if the above is true?
I can't add that high.. :o)

But I do know...DELL will be the next.....DELL!

Best, Kemble
