Mutual Funds may raise Rs 45,000 crore this year: Mehta Our Chennai Bureau 7 SEPTEMBER INDIAN mutual funds are likely to raise Rs 40,000-45,000 crore in 1999-2000 (April-March), Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) chairman D R Mehta said on Tuesday.
Mr Mehta said the funds, which raised Rs 22,711 crore in 1998-99, have raised Rs 14,112 crore in the four months from April to July. He was speaking at an interactive session organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).Mr Mehta said the net inflow to Indian mutual funds during April-July was Rs 4,875 crore, after accounting for redemptions and recapitalisation of the funds.
"Net inflows should be around Rs 12,000-15,000 crore by the end of the year, he said."This shows the Indian market is becoming more institutionalised," he said... economictimes.com |
