After several weeks of negotiations, Marcial Plehn-Mejia, Senior Economic Affairs Officer at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's (UNCTAD) Geneva headquarters, has confirmed his intention to participate in the event. Additionally, Davis Goodman, Editor-in-Chief of World Trade Magazine, has agreed to be the moderator for the panel discussion.
The conference will begin with a welcome address from Glenn Zagoren, Chairman of ProNetLink.com. Mr. Zagoren will introduce the keynote speaker, United States Deputy Secretary of Commerce Robert L. Marcial Plehn-Mejia began his service at the United Nations in 1971 as Assistant Secretary for the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Since 1977, he has been the Chef de Cabinet Officer in charge of UNCTAD in Geneva, focusing specifically on intergovernmental negotiations for the Commodities & Trade Division. Additionally, as Senior Advisor on Relations with the Business Sector and the Officer responsible for Technical Co-operation for UNCTAD, Mr. Plehn-Mejia has played an integral role in overseeing the construction of technological infrastructure for Third World and developing nations around the world. His current focus is the establishment of e-commerce platforms for developing nations that will benefit both the economic and social growth of Third World countries.
