You size Linux's market by citing two surveys that claim they have no idea of how to estimate Linux user numbers, and one white paper produced by Red Hat?

Talk to me about my sources when you show me at least one of yours. Yes, the Linux market is hard to size. Maybe they undercounted. Maybe they overcounted. Hard to know.

I doubt that you'll be interested in factual information that doesn't jive with your world-view, but you might check out netcraft.com for a survey of what web servers are running the 'net today. Apache, the open source -oh, I'm sorry, "freeware" - web server, is on top. Way on top. Granted, not all of those Apache boxes are running Linux*, but it's another data point.

But hey, you've got it all figured out. Thanks for the tip on the gap down this morning. ;-)

*techstocks.com, for instance, runs Apache on Solaris.
