VODAFONE RETAIL SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE WITH BULLETIN NEW WIRELESS E-MAIL SERVICE LAUNCHES MAJOR ADVERTISING AND MARKETING CAMPAIGN 9/8/99 10:13:50 AM ATLANTA, Sep 8, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Vodafone Retail and bulletIN.net Ltd. (a TWS company) launched a marketing campaign to encourage new customers to ride the wave of the Internet with a new board -- their wireless phone.
For the first time in the wireless retail arena, bulletIN(TM) E-Mail, the industry?s leading service, is being marketed directly to customers via promotional offers, bill inserts and in-store displays. Initial response to the campaign has been extremely positive with more than 650, 000 bill inserts delivered in July and August.
bulletIN enables customers to transform their wireless phones into hand-held, mobile offices. Vodafone Retail customers can leave their laptop PC?s behind and handle two-way e-mail by simply turning on their mobiles.
Uniquely targeted at business professionals and techno-savvy consumers, bulletIN allows wireless customers to use their existing digital phones to receive, reply to and originate e-mail messages. Also, bulletIN customers can have schedule reminders follow them in addition to obtaining sports scores, weather reports and other Internet content from anywhere in the world. Users can even use bulletIN to forward their e-mail to any fax machine and obtain a paper copy.
"bulletIN is a natural fit for our customers and a value-added product for our current retail offerings," said Ian Gray, Managing Director of Vodafone Retail. "We?re seeing increased customer demand for innovative offerings and enhanced services. bulletIN is another extension, enabling customers to gain access to e-mail everywhere. It?s as if we?re giving our customers an e-mail address where anyone can reach them, at anytime."
Vodafone Retail tapped TWS, Inc., the developer of the bulletIN suite of wireless services, for the creative ideas behind the campaign. The visuals for the campaign will feature creative materials that will tie into Vodafone?s current media for customer mailings and point-of-sale materials. Additional collateral materials will be included in a spread in The Business, a Vodafone business magazine distributed to more than 43,000 business customers.
According to Mike Holland, general manager of bulletIN.net Ltd., "bulletIN is a premiere wireless messaging service that provides a way for carriers to augment and differentiate their existing service offerings. Wireless e-mail and information services are the future for carriers who realize the importance of implementing novel ways to meet customer needs while creating new revenue sources."
Vodafone customers can request bulletIN by visiting www.bulletinmail.com or by calling a customer service representative at +0 7000 285 538.
