Dipy, thread, PSII came up on the Rambus thread, and conversation turned to the controller chips in it, and who makes them. LSI's is a major, what we used to call VLSI one, isn't it? Here's the drift:

I think that LSI does have some small chip in PSII but I can't remember what it is and don't have time
to look it up now. But it is not one of the two monster chips.
