Ron,

Maybe it's just the medium, but I wasn't being defensive, or excited, or upset. Threads like this don't properly convey emotion, and my response wasn't "heated" while I typed it.

JD did mention that expectations are exceeding reality. He mentioned it specifically on Page 5 of the August newsletter... oops.... you cancelled your subscription, so I guess you don't know that.

I don't think selling prior to a correction is against what JD stands for, if you are trying to lessen your exposure to a stock that has run up, and want to buy a better value at the moment. Again, it seems to elude you that he didn't say sell ALL LSI. He said it might be prudent to sell some now, if it's become an overly large portion of your portfolio, and reinvest that money in another stock with greater growth potential. Or do you think LSI will quintuple again in the next 9 months?

"Selling because you have a profit is NOT smart advice"... then you must think selling because you have a loss IS smart advice. He didn't say sell just because you have a profit. It's based on relative valuation... not absolute price.

We all have heard stories of people who sold Cisco, or Microsoft and could be cajillionaires. I've also heard a lot of people on this exact thread moan about how JD never gives sell signals, or rides stocks up and down and winds up in the same place. If he feels a stock is overvalued, and could potentially fall, then great. I wish he had relayed similar information on CCR a few months ago when it was in the high 50's (note, that was almost a negative comment... GASP!).

I'm not angry Ron, but you're about the 200th person who has showed up for the first time on the thread and enlightened us with how bad JD's advice is, how they've cancelled their subscription, and how CPPKY and SEW, and CSRE prove their point. I'm just tired of answering the same posts (see anything posted by Ralph Cinque 5-7 hundred ago).

It is very much a thread about JD's investment advice, and well thought out commentary (including negative commentary) is welcome (I've posted negative items on occasion as well). The "JD doesn't follow his stocks, and especially not LSI because he told us to sell it all" kind usually don't withstand rebuttal, at least not without kneejerk complaints of being defensive, or a JD zombie, or clueless, or whatever...
