Pacer Technology Appoints New CFO

Elects President/CEO to Its Board

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.--(BUSINESS
WIRE)--Sept. 8, 1999--Pacer Technology (NASDAQ:PTCH - news), owner of such branded
consumer products as Super Glue, ZAP©, PRO SEAL©, Cook Bates©, Diamond
Deb©/Kurlash© and Gem©, Wednesday announced the appointment of Laurence R. Huff as its
new chief financial officer.

Huff will commence his CFO duties with Pacer on Sept. 13, 1999.

Additionally, president and chief executive officer W. Thomas Nightingale has joined Pacer's board
of directors.

Huff, a seasoned financial professional experienced in managing accounting and finance departments,
has nearly 20 years of work experience in a range of industries, most notably in the retail/distribution,
manufacturing and aerospace industries. Before joining Pacer, Huff spent over 12 years with Stater
Bros. Markets, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Stater Bros. Holdings, where, most recently, he was
the assistant corporate controller.

While at Stater Bros. Markets, Huff was responsible for managing a staff of 28 within the accounts
receivable, cash reporting, billing, payroll, asset management and accounts payable departments.
Huff also oversaw the preparation of Stater's $1.7 billion operating budget. Prior to Stater, Huff held
financial and accounting positions with Rockwell International and, before that, Hydril Company and
Mead Products.

Huff holds an MBA from the University of La Verne and a BS with an emphasis in General
Accounting from Cal State University, Long Beach. For the past five years, Huff also has been an
instructor for the University of La Verne teaching accounting and related courses at the graduate and
undergraduate levels.

President and CEO Nightingale stated, ``We are pleased to welcome Laurence to our management
team. In addition to his experience working with publicly traded companies, Laurence's strong track
record in accounting and finance, combined with his expertise in designing and operating
management information systems, make him well suited to be our chief financial officer.'

Nightingale pointed out that in prior positions Huff had been closely involved in the creation and
operation of a number of information systems, including a Human Resource Management System, an
Automated Warehouse Billing function and an Accounts Receivable collection system, all of which
significantly helped enhance each company's operating performance.

The company noted that, as allowed by Pacer's Bylaws, the board of directors increased the number
of seats from five to six and then elected Nightingale to fill the vacancy created thereby.

Pacer Technology is a manufacturer and worldwide marketer of advanced technology adhesives,
sealants and related products for a variety of consumer and industrial applications, as well as
