Hello Thanh,

Whether a company becomes successful by luck or other means is not relavent. MSFT had to compete just like everybody else in the early haydays when it was a "little" shop run by a bright kid. The only thing they did right along the way was keep the momentum going and diversifying into different products.

MSFT looked at the workstation and saw tremendous opportunity...after all it wasn't going to be too long before every desk in the office was going to be equipped with a PC. Expanding that same logic to the average household and you have .....

Every company needs a product that will start them of in the right direction. MSFT has DOS and Windows. NOVL has NetWare. IBM had the mainframe. DEC had the VAX mini-computer etc...

One cannot make a claim that MSFT with market cap. exceeding $78 billion was built on luck alone. It was built on a vision of a person.

You and I could have built the same if only we had come up with the idea of developing an interface that resembled the Macintosh and was well accepted by the user community. The fact that we did not is not because we are unlucky (at least I do not consider myself unlucky) but because the tube light did not come on fast enough.

MSFT was built with a lot of dedication and hard work. A $78 billion company cannot be formed by buying a lottery ticket for $1 or playing roulette.

MSFT deserves to be rewarded with the fruits of its efforts. I am sure you are also using a MSFT product on your desktop. You have to admit, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 or NT are superb products.
