And what of the people who "experimented", such as certain rock stars and basketball players (and I'm sure a number of anonymous non-celebrities) One theory I have read is that everyone is born with certain tendencies toward homosexuality, but that environment and culture determine whether they will, in most people, be surpressed or allowed to flourish. The Greeks certainly allowed them to flourish, at least in the military. I don't know of any other culture which has openly accepted homosexuality to that degree -- somebody here mentioned the Romans, but I don't recall that from my study of Latin and the Roman texts.
