Alright, I know that people rarely post here after market hours anymore, but I'd like to conduct my own indirect "market sentiment" poll.

Tonight's topic is Y2K and its effect, real or imagined, on market sentiment. Tonight is an ideal time to consider this potential year-end market-killer, since tomorrow we test the 9999 test signal theory.

So here are tonight's questions:

What effect, if any, will the date "9/9/99" have on commerce? (If helpful, use a scale of 1-10, ten being catastrophic, one being inconsequential) What will be the media's coverage of this "event" AND what effect will the media's coverage have on the markets over the next 3-5 trading days?

Using at least one worn-out cliche in your discussion is not necessary, but would be greatly appreciated.
