fred hickey appears to be right on. mfrs are hoarding components so that they have enough to dampen any y2k shortfalls. end user sales are extremely weak.

this situation IS NOT sustainable. it doesn't increase end demand.

however, i'd venture that this q might be better for mu than i had previously anticipated.

do not forget, though, that this q's profits will be taken from 2 or 3 q's out losses.

iow, instead of three small to medium losses, mu will have a nice profit followed by breeakeven, followed by muthaload disaster.
