IMHO Convergenet owners did not want to pay taxes on what appears to be a handsome profit. If DELL is the next DELL, then what better place to be invested. Shares tie them to the success of the new technology.

Looks cheap compared to the recent CSCO acquisition even though no current revenues. If market opportunity is $38 billion, then DELL probably paid about 1 X 2003 sales (assuming 1% market penetration). EPS hit is one time R&D write off plus several more months with no revenue. Share dilution easily off set by DELL repurchase of shares in open market.

This may take some wind out of BRCD - though DELL says they will contineu to use BRCD.

I liked what I heard on the conference call.
