Hi!!

RE: What does this new aquisition mean? Is this a good move by Dell?

Yes..I like this deal a lot...Pollard who was on CNBC made the comment that DELL basically stole this company before it went public...would have had to pay a great deal more if they did go public...As far as to why DELL made this deal I think the article is self explanatory...some of the initial thoughts that I can recall go back quite awhile..DELL was unable of even throwing a bid on 50% of the large accounts prior to entering the data storage business...Corporations wished to deal with someone who could supply as aspects of their technology needs...A study by the Meta Group showed that "DELL had left enormous sums of money on the table" by not being able to deal due to this lack of the data storage...Michael has been quoted prior to this new unit with some very bold comments: He spoke of the server rip-offs and how DELL would change the way business would be done...the other PC manufacturing companies had been "GOUGING" corporations in attempts to keep DELL from getting the desktop and workstation contracts...IMO this acquisition today makes the future look very promising...I believe it opens many doors for years to come..

Best, Kemble
