Uncle Frank and thread,

This past weekend gave me an opportunity to read a few posts on this thread for the first time, and I must say I'm impressed with the collegiality and warmth displayed. What a relief from the typical board these days with the exchange of insults and scat. While my primary mode is lurking, for some reason I feel compelled to introduce myself. It is as though I have pulled up a chair at a neighborhood pub.

Unbeknownst to me, I have had some G&K tendencies, heretofore undiagnosed. I have owned CSCO and MSFT for several years and picked up JDSU and EMC about a year ago. I have harbored interest in QCOM for a while, but have not joined the club yet. Several posters are familiar to me (though not I to them for I lurk) from the JDSU, EMC, and George Gilder threads. The similarity of Gilder's "Ascendant Technology" companies and the G&K and W&W portfolios is not accidental, I'm sure. Once I read the earlier posts I expect the connection to be explicit.

I have read the 1000 most recent posts, which takes me back to last Tuesday, I think. My, what a prolific group. I now intend to start from the beginning and read the other 5000 posts in chronological order. Perhaps after I pick up a copy of the FM I might feel that I have something to add to the discussion. Until then I'll continue to lurk and enjoy your stories. Mike Buckley's tale of the blind date had me laughing out loud. You have a great thread here.

Greg
