Daniel...
>>>JD did mention that expectations are exceeding reality. He mentioned it specifically on Page 5 of the August newsletter... oops.... you cancelled your subscription, so I guess you don't know that.>>>
I've got page 5 right in front of me. NOWHERE does it mention to sell because expectations are exceeding reality. Specifically which passage are you referring to?
While you're looking for your "specific mention" here's my SPECIFIC EXAMPLE of how OUT OF TOUCH Dessauer is with LSI. Right on YOUR PAGE 5 he says, "Fundamental revenue growth is on the order of 8% a year."
Wrong, wrong, WRONG!
GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!!
Even the most novice of investors knows that LSI's growth is considerably higher than that, in fact they just had a QUARTER over QUARTER increase of 8%. They're projected to come in around 30% this year, and IF HE WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE QUARTERLY CONFERENCE CALL AND READ THE AVAILABLE REPORTS AND LISTENED TO THE ANALYSTS COVERING THE STOCK AND DID ANY KIND OF DUE DILIGENCE, HE'D REALIZE THEY'RE GONNA MEET THOSE PROJECTIONS AND EVEN HAVE A CHANCE OF EXCEEDING THEM. As I mentioned in my last post, Dessauer is completely and totally OUT OF TOUCH with LSI! Defend him to YOUR detriment.
>>>Again, it seems to elude you that he didn't say sell ALL LSI. He said it might be prudent to sell some now, if it's become an overly large portion of your portfolio, and reinvest that money in another stock with greater growth potential. Or do you think LSI will quintuple again in the next 9 months? >>>>
Oh? He didn't say to sell all of LSI? I suppose that somehow justifies his sell recommendation. On second thought, his sell signal is a prudent call, given LSI's revenue growth is only 8% this year. A BRILLIANT CALL based on BRILLIANT analysis of his BRILLIANTLY CONCEIVED NUMBERS. Garbage in, garbage out.
As far as Rite Aid and Union Planter? Oh yeah, those two stocks are surely gonna quintuple in the next 9 months. I'll wager LSI (even at it's "lofty" level) outperforms both of them for the next 2 years.
>>>"Selling because you have a profit is NOT smart advice"... then you must think selling because you have a loss IS smart advice. He didn't say sell just because you have a profit. It's based on relative valuation... not absolute price.>>>
I meant to say selling JUST because you have a profit is NOT smart advice.
I'm really interested in hearing how you're gonna DEFEND Dessauer and his analysis on LSI's growth of 8% a year. Instead of getting that, I'm sure you'll try convoluting the discussion by pointing out Dessauer has lots of "winners" and you've made a lot of money with his advice and your "forest and stump" theory. The bottom line is this, Dessauer is OUT OF TOUCH with some of his stocks which for an "investment guru" is BLASPHEMY. People who blindly follow this guy's advice may be headed for a financial screwing of the worst kind. It wouldn't surprise me that THE ANGRY MOB HE SCREWS OVER because he DOESN'T FULLY EXAMINE AND FOLLOW HIS STOCKS CLOSELY should march into his office and demand his head on a stick.
I stand by my original post.
