I was raised Catholic. When Catechism got to original sin, I thought about it and rejected the whole package. I didn't stop believing in God, that came much later. But I could not accept that God would condemn one person for the actions of another. It didn't make sense.

Of course without original sin we have no need for redemption, and no need for a saviour, and the whole edifice tumbles a bit. But if the whole edifice is based on a precept that violates common sense, maybe it needs to tumble a bit.
