enlighten me....why do you think i jest. if i have two classes of assets...cash,inherently depreciative and stock, more then likely appreciative...............why not use cash? why issue stock that will dilute, even if temporarily the value of existing shares? deal was done not on share price, but a fixed quantity of shares....if dell stock doubles in sixty days, so does the value of the transaction....cash offer remains constant......perhaps dell management sees share price flat? how do you think 5-7 cent per share one time reduction in earnings will be viewed by the market? again you think i joke, so i will bow to your expertise for an answer of why the deal structured with stock instead of cash is best....thanks, ed a.
