Microsoft to expand Indian operations.

Microsoft Corp is planning to expand operations at its software development center in India in the current financial year, according to company press release. The center, set up in August 1998, currently has a strength of 43. Microsoft is setting up its first full-fledged development center outside its home base at Seattle in the United States in Hyderabad, has plans to expand the team to more than 200 next year. "The expansion plans for developing new projects further reiterates Microsoft`s commitment to India," the statement said.

The India center has been developing a product called Windows Services for Unix, and has also been engaged in work related to component technology, enterprise management and on future versions of the Microsoft Office suite and the Windows platform, the statement further said.
