Lone, TRKN obviously does not have the global support that AMAT or LRCX does. But the support infrastructure develops as sales pick up...and the support would be targeted to specific sites that are using TRKN equipment as required by the customer. This would eventually develop into a global support organization. I sure AMAT did not go hire 2000 support people before their first sale. At this time TRKN has global presence in all the major FAB areas of the world....so it's not like they have a couple technicians supporting global operations.

On the filp side I agree that support is a big issue in semi tool area and I would suspect that who ever buys TRKN tools will make sure that they can support it before they buy it, and as systems get put into place, TRKN will have to deliver on service....so far I have not heard anything negative about their existing support...if you have please share it with us.

ON the other hand...you can't ignore their technology and the competitive edge it gives customers (in your note you question the support and not the technology, so you must be impressed with the technology too) ....TRKN...has beaten AMAT and LRCS numerous times in head to head competition for R&D units. Hyundai's test's with two production TRKN etch systems have resulted in a 10% better yeild than the etchers they currently use. TI has documented the cost savings and benefits of Forcefill and are buying systems. Flowfill is proving to be a stable technology with the potential of huge gains for chip fabrication....I would be surprised that logic chip makers will ignore the technology because TRKN's support is untested. The logic and DRAM markets are very competitive and having an advantage such as flowfill over your competitors will not go un-noticed for long.

Hell if I was INTC, IBM, HWP, AMD...etc and I could speed up my chips by 50% by using TRKN's flowfill...I would buy my own support crew and spares if I was concerned about support.....Imagine INTC saying no to flowfill because of support issues and AMD (being the underdog) takes a gamble on the support and starts to make chips with flowfill technology and leapfrogs INTC by 50% is processor speed....it's hard to imagine any major fab would do that. Well this is all assuming that Flowfill is what it's cracked up to be.
