FIXN - NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 9, 1999--Famous Fixins,
Inc. (OTC BB: FIXN), a leading producer and distributor of celebrity
and athlete-affiliated food products, today announced that New York
Yankee All-Star shortstop Derek Jeter has joined their growing line-up
of superstars with his own cereal.
"Jeter's," a frosted flakes cereal, will be packaged in a limited
edition collector's cereal box and will be available in the Metro New
York area in time for the Major League Baseball post-season, with a
national launch to follow shortly thereafter. As a sales incentive,
random boxes will contain one of fifty (50) instant winner redemption
cards for authentically autographed Derek Jeter baseball jerseys and
one (1) grand prize winner will have the opportunity to meet the
Yankee Superstar. "I start my day with a bowl of cereal every morning
and now I am able to do it with my own brand," stated Jeter.
Famous Fixins has reached an agreement with the 24-time World
Champion New York Yankees to cross-promote Derek's new cereal and the
Yankees Kids Club. Various events and special promotions will take
place at Yankee Stadium.
"We are extremely excited to announce the signing of New York's
most exciting and talented player. This 25 year old shortstop has
proven to be the future of baseball," said Jason Bauer, President of
Famous Fixins. "Our agreement with the Yankees will enable us to use
Derek in uniform." Bauer also announced that a portion of the cereal's
proceeds would be donated to Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation, which assists
youths at risk to alcohol and drug abuse.
"While Derek is honored to have his own cereal box, he is very
excited by the fact that his foundation will benefit with proceeds and
awareness from the product" said Jeter's agent, Casey Close, President
of IMG Baseball.
Derek Jeter joins the growing number of superstars to grace the
packaging of their own Famous Fixins cereal or food product. The
