Mortgage lender stocks are a relatively more "interest" sensitive than other stocks, thus it should have a greater correlation (1+) with the market index. Look at the facts: both DOW and NASDAQ are in the positive territory, despite being upgrade and having a new joint venture with Prudential, MDCM was positive only during the first trading hour and remains most of the trading day near its bottom, yet it closed in the red territory.
Do you think MDCM today's behavior is really comforting???
What is your supporting evidence but hope and fear?
