Hi, DSD. Unfortunately, I know just enough about the ADA to be dangerous. I know that the law prohibits, not only discrimination in the workplace, but discrimination in public accommodations. Is a basketball team covered by the ADA? If he was in a wheelchair, could he say that they were discriminating against him by not letting him play? I think not.

My thought would be that they are not discriminating against him for being an alcoholic, they are sanctioning him for violating the law. Not all discrimination is unlawful, as you know.

Anyway, by the time the case is resolved, if he actually took it to the Supreme Court, it would be maybe 5 years, so what good will it do him?

Just my 2 cents.
