I love Sam's. I love walking around and eating all the free samples. There is so much SURPLUS. I think of the poor Russian countries with their empty shelves and I feel guilty and greedy. Even though it's not all mine, it could be. I have a Discover card. I can buy the biggest bags of anything I want. I bought a huge box of computer paper-reams and reams. I've had it for six years now. There are only 2 1/2 packages left-- I can feel myself panicking. You just never know- I could sit down one evening and write a thousand page novel and run out of paper in the middle. It's time for another box. I had a friend who always bought two of everything- two shower curtains, two sets of curtains, so that if something happened to the first, he would have a spare. I kid you not. He showed me his closets. Spares of everything. He said his grandmother taught him that. I'm sure that's why he has two kids. He'd probably have two wives if it weren't illegal.
