<<And remember that article CH brought to our attention about the lagging brain development in adolescents? They really don't THINK about consequences yet- not the way adults do. >>

Now that is all in the way you're brought up. One summer Sunday, when I was 11, it was raining and golf was out. My dad played and I caddied. My mother was baking a cake and asked if I wanted to help. She put me on the Mixmaster to mix the batter, no fancy mixers back then, you held them and turned the bowl. Well the thing went from mixing to real slow so she told me to go from low to high. Batter flew everywhere.

I no more got it shut down and I felt the belt buckle across my cheek. Next one got me in the ear. I went under the table and curled up. I got whacked on the back, legs, head and hands until my dad was wore out. I learned consequenses before I became an adolescent. Consequenses were always a ruling factor if I got caught. Made sure I never got caught again. Never trusted my mother or turned a mixer on high either.
