Also from today's ROB..... I really hate when they quote these anonymous sources "an analyst says those rumours are unfounded". Half of what's in the Globe isn't news anymore, it's all hype and BS. I would say the rumours were unfounded too if I'd been caught with my pants down and I wanted to pick up some shares or if I was short WML. It's pathetic how these "sources" just manipulate the hell out of these amateur reporters.

$7.80, up $1.20 A month ago, Westminster Resources stock caught fire, buoyed by news that natural gas was being flared from a well near Bakersfield, Calif., in which Westminster holds a 7.13-per-cent stake. At the time, the shares climbed as high as $7, up from less than $5 earlier in the month. Then, the excitement seemed to wane, dragging down the stock price. But it rekindled in the past few days as investors started to speculate about how much gas will be found in the well. Rumours that the Calgary-based company is a takeover target added fuel to the fire, but an analyst says those rumours are unfounded. Trading volume yesterday was an especially hefty 2.2 million shares, far ahead of the usual daily average of 96,000. |
